Renault radio code: precode, serial and official options
Most older Renault and Dacia radios ask for a four digit code after a battery change. The good news is that many show their precode on screen, so you may not need to remove anything.

Where to find your Renault radio serial
Switch the radio on, then hold preset buttons 1 and 6 together for a few seconds. Many units then show a precode, a letter followed by three digits, such as A123. Send us that precode. If nothing shows, the serial is on the label on the radio.

Tips for reading the precode
- The first character is a letter, the next three are numbers.
- If the screen shows CODE before you hold 1 and 6, that is normal.
- Type the precode into the serial box on our form.
How we handle Renault requests
Renault precode requests are processed by our team and emailed to you. Timing may vary.
Every request needs your email, accepted terms and an owner statement. This service is for owners restoring their own radio only.
Official Renault options
Renault mentions the owner's handbook, the My Renault app and an official radio code service on its UK site. A Renault dealer can also help with proof of ownership. Check Renault's own site for current options.
Dacia
Many Dacia cars use Renault radios, so the same precode steps often apply. Choose Dacia on the form.
Media Nav and R-Link
Touchscreen Media Nav and R-Link systems usually do not use a typed four digit radio code. If you have one of these and it is locked, contact a Renault dealer.
Entering your Renault code
Use the preset buttons to set each digit and confirm. Too many wrong tries will lock the radio for a while. Full steps: how to enter your radio code.
